Look out, look out there's a ranter about!

Cycling home from work, and cycling as far up my road as possible and pulling into a brak in the cars on the right hand side of the road virtually outside my flat, and mounting the pavement for all of about 10ft before i planned to dismount from my bike and carry it up my steps to me flat. There were 3 'Torry Types' (yes ok i'm a bit of a snob, so what!?) walking 3abrest towards me with a small dog...the dog (not on a lead) decided the best route for it to take was virtually under my wheels which brought me to a halt from the approx 2 mph i was doing before hand, just at the bottom of my garden. At this point I dismount, and the 3 people walk past and down the road a bit one of them turns round and says "Shouldn't be on the pavement anyway"...my thoughts on this at the time (and now)....'Prat!' (ok maybe something slightly harsher/non-repeatable) and said "I live there" pointing at my flat, and being within touching distance of my garden...yeah ok if i was following the highway code fully I may just have dismounted as I pulled over whilst still on the road....but i mean seriously, I was 10ft away from my front steps...pedestrians are soooo precious sometimes! Pah!
